ACTBGA Governance
The board is the governing body of the ACTBGA. The board has the authority and the responsibility to perform the functions, determine the policies and control the affairs of the ACTBGA.
The essential responsibilities of the board are to oversee the ACTBGA and to manage the business of the association.
This includes the following activities:
- Submit final recommendations on the allocation of capital grant funds to the Australian Government Minister for Education, for approval on an annual basis;
- Make decisions or recommendations on the allocation of funding for other programs as required;
- Monitor progress against goals and objectives and ensure that corrective action is taken when necessary;
- Establish and monitor policies to ensure that the ACTBGA complies with statutory requirements.

The members of the ACTBGA Association shall be:
- Two people nominated by AISACT
- Two people nominated by CECG
- One person nominated jointly by AISACT and CECG who shall be the chair of the board
- One person nominated jointly by AISACT and CECG who shall be the parent representative.

Capital Grants Assessment Committee
From 2024 onward, there will be a single assessment committee responsible for assessing and prioritising grant applications and making recommendations to the ACTBGA Board on the allocation of grant funds under the Capital Grants Program (CGP) and Better Schools for Our Kids (BSK) program.
The assessment committee consists of nine members: the chair of the ACTBGA Board, who presides over meetings of the committees; four members nominated by AISACT; and four members nominated by CECG.

The executive officer of the ACTBGA is responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the authority’s affairs. In addition, the executive officer acts as secretary to the board and committees, and is the association’s public officer.
